Highlander wasn't really a triple A franchise. Just one good movie and one decent tv show, and a whole lot of crap.

I... think wishing death on the writer may be going a little far...
Meh, you might be right about Highlander. I was just using it as an example.
Highlander has a TV movie that is very fun to mock (and has a villain smart enough to wear a neckguard). I might play Other M, as it's been getting decent reviews.

This was the worst game I've ever played, but wishing death on the creators is going too far.

The next Metroid game would probebly be the last not only because feminist are a majority but also because the gameplay has become Nintendo's equlivelvent of the Xbox 360 Kinect. So the franchise has suffered transgression and limitations in more ways then one.

Dunno 'bout you guys, but I'm not planning on buying anything with Sakamoto's name in the credits as anything more important than "coffee intern."
You know what? I think I agree with your sentiments about Sakamoto.
I'll be honest, regardless of how you feel about this game, I think it's in pretty poor taste to say that you want Sakamoto to be run over by a street sweeper, even if it was meant as a joke. Especially considering Gunpei Yokoi, one of the developers of Metroid, died in 1997 after being hit by a car.

Seriously, it's just a game...

The hell?

Feminists don't mind Metroid games. Feminists mind stupid writers butchering female characters.
I hope you get run over by a street sweeper!

I hope in the near future there are march raising awareness for the need of counseling so many people need.

"Metroid Other M is the Highlander II of Metroid"

And all credibility for this review has been lost. If not that, then whining about Yoshio Sakamoto constantly.
comment #17102 ThatOtherGriffin 6th Dec 12
I also have to mention how negative reviews and rants pollute the whole Reviews-page.

Yeah, free speech and all that, but geez guys, does your voice really warrant another rant about the same thing?
comment #17103 ThatOtherGriffin 6th Dec 12
If the person explains the reasons for their hatred, then the negative review should be allowed. At what point do you say "Okay, no more negative reviews, only positive ones!" By the second negative review? The third? The fourth?

You're right. Highlander II wasn't that bad.
@Scardoll: Whatever, dude.

@Tuckerscreator: How about by the point when negative reviews clutter the whole page?

@Opalure: I hope you really do that, you goddamn ingrate.

comment #17126 ThatOtherGriffin 7th Dec 12
There's typically multiple reasons why a single work gathers multiple negative reviews. This one isn't an exception. There's a lot of things wrong with this game, and certain aspects are going to bother some more than others because people are, you know, different, so they'll have different takes on it to share. Besides, you got a reason why this review shouldn't be posted? Yeah, the auhor went a bit overboard with a death wish on Sakamoto, but other than that, I don't see much wrong with it...
How about by the point when negative reviews clutter the whole page? Still very subjective. What qualifies as clutter? What qualifies as the whole page? One negative review technically takes up the whole page. Is that the point when none are allowed, then? And it strikes me as hypocritical that you'd complain about people saying negative things about this game, yet call people negative names like "goddamn ingrate", especially when they weren't even speaking to you.
And I think it's hard to ignore the fact that most of everything here is nothing but negative complaints. Even if it's not "cluttering", you cannot argue that it doesn't make up a large chunk of what is written here, and let's not even go how all of them essentially about the same thing.

Not to mention most of these are not even actual reviews, but just people ranting nonstop, and then calling it a review for the sake of some bizzare form of satisfaction.

There's a time and a place for you to write rants.I don't think when this site was made, the Reviews-portion of the site was designed as some kind of platform for people to vent anger, with or without childish deathwishes as shown here. That would be Darth Wiki.

I will admit though, I don't know what I was thinking when typing "goddamn ingrate". I will not be further responding, because I have made my point I don't see how any need for me to continue this.

comment #17134 ThatOtherGriffin 7th Dec 12
And I think it's hard to ignore the fact that most of everything here is nothing but negative complaints. Exactly. They're negative reviews, therefore they're going to have negative complaints. Why would a negative review contain mostly positive points?

let's not even go how all of them essentially about the same thing. Meaning they've all noticed the same problem about the game. It's too much to call for every review to discover new flaws everytime.

I don't think when this site was made, the Reviews-portion of the site was designed as some kind of platform for people to vent anger, with or without childish deathwishes as shown here. True. Rants are annoying. But negatives are valid when they make legitimate points. As does this one about Samus's chicification, the confusing plot, and bad characterization.
I wonder how cluttering a review page up with the exact same positive points, reiterated again and again, is any better.

Gushing and ranting are two sides of the same coin.

With a 400-word limit, if it wasn't deliberately designed that way it certainly shouldn't have surprised anyone either. 400 words is not enough for any kind of serious review, but it's enough for things like this, which is probably why they're so common.
That's a good point; I've stopped caring about the word count and just stretch it into the first comment if I have to.
