A beautiful and heartwarming series
I always loved this series as a kid. Part drama, part comedy, and with lots of romance, "Candy Candy" is one anime series that follows the life of a little girl, from her first years living in an orphanage. Unlike other anime series, there is nothing of fantasy, but all the stories keep a realistic (yet optimistic and beautiful) point of view, focusing in the feelings of the characters. Many parts of the story reminded me a lot to the stories of writers like Charles Dickens: There is a lot of drama, there are some elements of tragedy, but it still manages to show us a beautiful and inspiring view of life. The characters are very likable and charming. You don't have to be an anime fan to enjoy this series. If you enjoy stories with lots of heart, then this show is for you. I highly recommend it to anyone.
