It's pretty good, nya

This is a review of the Manga as it has been a while since I've seen the anime. From what I remember the anime is much like the manga but with a lot of added filler, much like most Magical Girl Manga to Anime adaptation.

Tokyo Mew Mew is certainly cute. As you might guess from the premise it's a story for animal and nature lovers before anyone else. There is a lot to like, The main characters are all charming likable with interesting dynamic personalities, the slightly magitech feel is interesting, the final villain and fight are cool, and and Ryou is certainly a unique mentor (alot different then the same stuffy mentor figure over and over again)

On the other hand the bad guys are pretty underwhelming. They keep talking about changing up their tactics but only Pie does so and to not a huge extent. Kishi was annoying until the end of the series in my opinion. Also it's hard to fault them for this because Seinfeld is funny and all, but the spoilery thing that happens with Mew Ichigo's love interest Masaya is quite cliche.

It's also cheesy as all hell as befitting "Magical Girl Captain Planet" but that kind of thing doesn't really bother me.

4/5
