Are there any Christian movies that are actually good?
Cut off one head 2 more shall take it's place! Hail HydraBen-Hur is a classic of the medium.
Is this an anti-Christian rant or a movie review?
You need to understand though who it is aimed at. Ostensibly it talks to college students; but the real audience is fundamentalist Christian parents distraught at seeing their children grow up obeying their Biblical injunctions, then going astray when they leave for college. Films like this tell them that it\'s not because they are exposed to ideas outside the rigid Biblical upbringing of their family, but rather they are bullied into it by atheist professors. The film is dishonest not only in its portrayal but also in its aims.
Stories don't tell us monsters exist; we knew that already. They show us that monsters can be trademarked and milked for years.I would give it maybe 2 or 3 out of 10. Yes, it's bad. There are far worse though (including in the Christian film genre). As you said, the So Bad Its Good aspect also puts it over some which are just plain bad.
Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.-Philip K. DickPeople hate War Room but at least it had just one plotline and didn\'t jump around to a pair of pastors going to Disney world
Cut off one head 2 more shall take it's place! Hail HydraAll the good Christian movies are Christian Bale movies.
The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe & Lord of the Rings come to mind. Both are heavily Christian fantasies. Granted, most people won\'t see it in Lord of the Rings, but Narnia is pretty obvious.
Also, speaking as a Christian (with a rather Deist view on it), your review comes off as condescending and outright contemptuous of Christianity itself rather than the film.

Horrible, but watch it
Of course this movie is not good. It has poor plot, flat characters, no link to reality and is blatant propaganda. But it still should be watched because there is a good third of Americans who believe this stuff, so watching a movie like this is useful to understand them. To not be able to understand a third of people around you is a stupid thing when you want to go to politics, sell something controversial, or anything similar. The fact that there was never a single Christian propaganda movie that would give any good arguments proves quite well that there just arenĀ“t any that anybody has thought of so far, so it can also be taken as a Stealth Parody of religious fundamentalism.
Overall, 0/10. But go watch it. You may get a laugh from So Bad, It's Good.
EDIT: Old Shame, left here for posterity and to never forget. Sorry.
