Osmosis Jones- Get on with it!

One thing I noticed more about the newer episodes is that Doug likes to drag his jokes. Take for instance his "Pirate Palpatine" joke. It could have been a funny little one off, he didn't have to spell it out for us or bring back the joke. He also spends most of the review just pointing out cop cliches or Inside Out similarities. By the way, did the Inside Out tie-in even have to happen? He could have just said, "Thank goodness there is a good film that has a creative, fun take on what goes inside the body." I felt it was unnecessary and not very funny, it just padded the run time. I did laugh at the Simba and the corn chips bit though. I wish he got into the plot more, even if was cliche, and talked about Thrax as a character.

Eh, well, you know, NC is basically in name only these days. There are some broad strokes similarities so as not to arouse too much suspicion, but it's basically a different show under the same name, piggybacking on name value and little else. It's a bit pathetic, really.

That is, a bloated, self-important, moralizing show that rarely does anything to justify its own existence. Doug Walker and the Semi-Funny Stooges Show could teach Seth Macfarlane a lesson or two about stretching a joke that wasn't funny to begin with thinner than, I don't know, a flayed Bolton skin over a mammoth turd.

You could basically write the same review about 80% of his post-revival stuff and replace the names an jokes, and it'd still hold true. Fact is, the Walker brothers aren't good enough writers to sustain a 15+ minute per episode video series.

You're saying he spends too much time pointed out cop cliches. Last I checked there are three sections, none spanning even more than a minute which are used a brief gags and ways to criticize the movie.

You say he spelled out the pirate palpatine joke but...how? By saying "I wish pirate palpatine would use his force powers to end this scene" that's not really spelling it out. And as for the using it again statement, you're seriously using a single sentence that was meant to strengthen one of his 10 second jokes as being dragged out? Yeah...no.

"Spends most of the review pointing out inside out similarities" There was the control pad and the circular screen, and the memories being treated as movies, and subconscious represented as a scary abyss. Yes that's a good amount of examples, but they span a total of less than two minutes. Calling that "most of the review" is completely false.

To each their own about the inside out tie-in. I disagree but this point isn't a bad one.

You say you wish he delved into the plot more. He criticized the Dark and Troubled Past of Ozzy, the revelation of what Drix really is, how the scene with Ozzy being fired was handled, the acting of Bill Murray ruining scenes meant to be emotional, and the stale romance the movie has. That's a lot of going into the plot. When your only example of him not going into the plot would be about Thrax (which he still explained who he was and what he did in the review) it's a pretty weak point.

This tv tropes review wasn't good to be honest. It blows minor gags way out of proportion, and frequently uses false information in it.
