Some Anvils Need to Be Dropped isn't "this anvil message is important" or "I agree with this message". It's "this work has received significantly more acclaim/accolades than usual because of the heavy-handedness of its aesop".

As written, the example is simply tropers giving support to the show for its "moral", which we are NOT supposed to do.

There was a Repair discussion about the definition of the trope. It went nowhere, but a sandbox was written up potentially redefining the trope to "the message is important and worth dropping", and that's ultimately the description I feel it should be. Thoughts?

An open mind and compassionate heart are among the most important qualities we can have.

But that's explicitly not the definition.

Really, that description cannot be the definition since that just makes it effectively synonymous to "An Aesop" since at the very least the writers thought "the message is important and worth dropping."

Agreed with Larkmarn. That basically sounds like something along the same lines as Crowning Moment Of Awesome, which (AFAIK) aren't allowed on YMMV pages either since it tends to be little but gushing.

Not to mention that the message itself is highly contentious in current political climate.
