About the Felicia Day thing:

I am not seeing ample evidence (despite being a very active member of the fandom) that people are that excited for this show.

Second, the linked page was to Felicia Day's Facebook page. I doubt everyone on there even knows what Dragon Age is. And, as I said, it's not like there's a dislike button.

Third, that's not the trope. The trope is "News about a new production of an old work greatly raises fan expectations: this will be awesome!" This is simply the announcement that it exists. Even if people were that excited, that meant they're excited and stayed excited. Nor is Redemption a new production of an old work. It is a spin-off of an existing franchise.

On the subject,

1. And the Fandom Rejoiced is a highly subjective trope. The article even says "The reasons for this can vary depending on the individual production and the individual fan." and a sufficient enough portion of the Fandom seems to be excited, regardless of any personal feelings you may have on Felicia day. 2. Within 8 hours of being posted, the link in question had 720 likes and over 100 comments, most of which were from Dragon Age fans. The lack of a dislike button is irrelevant to the fact that I failed to find a single negative comment on the subject. (on the subject, less than 24 hours now and the count is over 1,300) 3. And the Fandom Rejoiced deals with an adaptation of a franchise, not necessarily a revival. Redemption is an adaptation.

1. No, that is not what that means.

That means that you can have different reasons why you're rejoicing, but not that it might not be true of all fans. For this trope to work, it has to be near-universal. Subjective tropes rely on audience reaction. Not that if anyone thinks this is true of it, anyone can post in in the YMMV tab and no one else can remove it.

2. It's her Facebook page. You are not going to find negative comments. She posted some modeling pictures of herself and 3,000 people liked it. It is indicative of nothing.

3. And this is not an adaption. This is a spin-off occurring in its own story, like a comic would be.

1. I know what it means. You don't have to get condescending. 2. It doesn't matter what the source is. Clearly there are quite a lot of dragon age fans excited about this. They just happen to overlap. 3. Now you're just nitpicking. Can I add the example now, or do I have to put up with more of your "Logic?"

1. Then why were you indicating otherwise?

2. ...Er, yes it does. Yes, it does. It's a site devoted to Felicia Day and what she does. Of course they'll like anything she does. Take this website, the official forums for DA. I did a tally of the first three pages, and I counted 20 positive, 14 uninterested/indecisive/meh, and 8 negative. That's a split fanbase, and no where near And the Fandom Rejoiced.

3. You haven't proven anything. In fact, I'm even more sure that you're jumping the gun.

1.I'm not indicating otherwise. You simply twist things.

2.There has never in the history of time been a universal consensus on any subject anywhere, however, the vast majority is in favor of it.

3.I doubt either of us will convert the other to their way of thinking, so I propose a compromise. I repost the statement. You do not take it down. If someone else takes it down, down it stays. If not, up it stays. If the fandom is truly as divided as you say, surely someone will take it down, yes? This way, we settle the issue without an edit war.
11:04:57 PM Feb 16th 2011
1. Then I misunderstood you.

2. No, not universal consensus. But it should be, yes, vast majority. I just provided telemetry from a far more unbiased source that the fandom is split on it. You need to provide me some counter measure from a similarly unbiased source. Not her Facebook page.

3. These things get settled in discussions, not reposted until someone feels like taking it down. What if the next person that comes along just hates Felicia Day and everyone else loves her and everything she's in? That's no more accurate.
12:06:22 AM Feb 17th 2011
I just said we're not going to settle this that way. Unless I missed my guess, you are childish and hate to lose. I know this because I am childish and hate to lose. When people with our mindset collide, they accomplish nothing unless a compromise is reached. I've offered you a compromise. Arguing further fails to solve anything. And the Fandom isn't split. You've simply provided me with a second source that shows the Fandom is in fact behind this.

Er. What?

"I did a tally of the first three pages, and I counted 20 positive, 14 uninterested/indecisive/meh, and 8 negative."

If I had said it "20 positive and 22 not positive", it'd mean the same thing. My point is, wait for some other people to add their input.

That seems an acceptable solution.

Wait! I have...an...idea.

Why not just make a new Dragon Age: Redemption page? It is it's own work, and Works Pages Are a Free Launch.
07:12:37 PM Feb 17th 2011
Works for me. Though, for the sake of discussion I did find an unbiased source.(I think, at least.) That is, the Dragon Age official Youtube channel released the trailer. (Here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OF2mPgwrlT4). There are over 900 likes and around 30 dislikes. Which is pretty good for something they put up earlier today. I still like the idea of Redemption getting its own page, but I think this qualifies it for And the Fandom Rejoiced. Though, I could be wrong.
10:14:50 AM Feb 18th 2011
The reason I used the official boards for Dragon Age is because And the Fandom Rejoiced in relation to Dragon Age can't be judged from open media sources like YouTube, or her Facebook page. Right on the first page, most of the comments are things like "Hi Codex" or "Codex is an elf!". I understand her fandom is rejoicing, but Dragon Age's? I still haven't seen that. I've seen a mixed reaction.

But, if you want to add it to the Redemption page, that's fine. I don't like running around in circles arguing. So I'll just ignore it.
