Yeah there's some serious ignorance in this YMMV section; I removed the snide comment of "Is Captain Cook important? Debatable." because its absolutely ludicrous to dismiss the person who charted huge amounts of the world's oceans and altered the course of many Pacific nations histories.
The Haitian Revolution
Whoever wrote "However, he did manage to dedicate an entire episode to the Haitian Revolution, which didn't impact much outside of the island nation (and certainly wasn't on equal footing with Napoleon)." is ignorant in the highest degree.
Without the Haitian Revolution, there would never have been a Louisiana purchase. Without the Haitian Revolution, Napoleon would've tried to create another North American Empire (that was the explicit plan for what the Leclerc Expedition was to do after crushing Haiti). And the violent outcome of the revolution made the Southerners in the US much more fearful of what would happen were slavery ever to end.
Just because the average white idiot has not heard of it, does not mean it was not important.
