Removed the following example, because to me the "British slang" explanation seems less plausible than its just being a reference to, well, Delta Burke. Feel free to reinstate it if I am wrong.
- Meaningful Name: The Delta Burke is named for the river delta (the part of the river it operates around) and Burke, which is a British slang term meaning a rough, vicious, highly unpleasant individual — it shares similar origins with Berkshire Hunt, British rhyming slang for... well, you can probably guess. As it turns out, everyone on the ship is a vicious carnivore who decides they want to eat Buster and Babs.
