I just removed Hypocritical Humor, as it opened a small can of worms I didn't feel comfortable about leaving in without discussion.

The original read as follows:

  • Hypocritical Humor: Danny's berserk button is using the word 'gay' for something bad yet his catchphase towards video game opponents is 'eat a dick' which Danny is clearly not homophobic but it's still a little ironic.

Aside from being a sort of mix between Justifying Edit and Examples Are Not Arguable, there is also the question of what the entry is implying. I'm not sure how to rephrase this without implying that the person in question is a homophobe, but at the same time, it probably needs to be in the article. Anyone up for rewriting it? I'm thinking there might be a quote we could reference where Danny discusses his use of the phrase, because, well, the current example is wishy-washy in its description, but outright accusing someone of homophobia...

Maybe I'm just overthinking it.

Ironically, me removing the trope from the main page might be a bit of a Justifying Edit in itself, come to think of it.
