I feel that condemning Kira for her statements made in "The Darkness and the Light" is kind of missing the part where she's making these statements to a guy trying to pass off a moral high ground while in the process of trying to murder her and successfully having murdered her friends. With Marritza, you have a guy whose guilt was so massive he was willing to get reconstructive surgery so he could be executed as a war criminal to atone for his inability to do anything back then. I can see where Kira felt badly for this guy, and not toward the other guy.
