I'm thinking of updating the page and splitting it into sections based on the different sagas. Thoughts?

I removed the Super Weight entry (copied below):

  • Super Weight:
    • Type 0: Yuki, Jokyojo Daimon, Shizuka Kusanagi, Rose Bernstein.
    • Type 1: Billy Kane, Heidern, Shingo Yabuki, Clark Still, Goro Daimon, Choi Bounge, Chang Koehan, Chin Gentsai, King, Mai Shiranui.
    • Type 2: Ralf Jones, Leona Heidern, Mature, Vice, Benimaru Nikaido, Andy Borgard, Terry Borgard, Geese Howard, Joe Higashi, Kim Kaphwan, Ryo Sakazaki, Robert Garcia, Yuri Sakazaki, Bao, Momoko.
    • Type 3: Leopold Goenitz, K', Chris, Yashiro Nanakase, Shermie, Kyo Kusanagi, Iori Yagami, Ash Crimson, Chizuru Kagura, Orochi Leona, Takuma Sakazaki, Rugal Bernstein, Adelheid Bernstein, Athena Asamiya, Nightmare Geese, Sie Kensou.
    • Type 4: Orochi, Saiki, Dark Ash, Mukai, Magaki, Igniz, Omega Rugal, Dragon Spirit Kensou.

My reasons:

1) The King of Fighters doesn't use Power Levels as far as I know, so sorting the fighters that way seems to be a very subjective excercise, unless some evidence could be pointed out for each case (or at least most of them). It sould be noted that due to Gameplay and Story Segregation, tier charts and boss staus should have little, if any relevance to this sort of ranking.

2) The power of many fighters seem to be grossly overestimated or even underestimated (Mai and King -veteran fighters- being Type 1 while Yuri is Type 2). Looking into the Super Weight page, I recognize Superman and Magneto as examples of Type 3, and to be honest, I doubt most KOF characters listed there actually are that level. But even that is not that big of a problem compared to how many charactes are listed under Type 4: Going by the trope page, that rank should be reserved to pretty much {physical god}}s *

and reality warpers, and I don't see any KOF character being that level in canon, excep *maybe* Orochi, considering how big a deal is always made of his possible awakening (in story, he is suppossedly capable of wiping out humanity, but of course, we never see him achieving anything like that).

So, I belive that the entry needs either more evidence (okay, not to be included in the example, but at least to exist), or to be more vague, given the limited information:

  • Super Weight:
    • Type 0: Most NPC, (exceptions: Diana, Candy, Ron & the Hizoku clan)
    • Type 1: Most fighters (since pretty much all of them got their powers via training hard).
    • Type 2: Most characters in hero roles or team leaders like Kyo, Iori, Terry, Ryo, K', Chizuru, etc. Most villians and mid bosses would fit in here as well. (Most characters here have a special, non-training gained, power to back them up, like orochi blood, the dragon spirit, sacret treasures, ect or are true prodigies among the rest). Some final bosses (like Krizalid) may fit better here than in Type 3.
    • Type 3: It's likely that most end bosses fit here, especially if they're a Person of Mass Destruction (Goenitz definitely is one, and Chris, Shermie and Yashiro *may* be as well).
    • Type 4: Orochi may fit here, or be among the top on the Type 3.

What do you think?

Whew! The page really grew out of it's limits. I was wondering if it's possible, after the cleanup, (character tropes => character sheets and subjective tropes => YMMV) to split this page into several others, focusing on each game or saga.

I think the page could be split by saga, just like the character sheets. But we'll probably end with either repeating a lot of the tropes (for each page) or the saga-specific pages would end havign the minority of the tropes, with the main page still being very long (tons of tropes are shared between the games). Still, the sinopsis splitting alone may be worth the reesult.

Well, if there are repeating tropes alongside the series, then these could be kept in the main KOF page, while the other, saga-dependant tropes, would be in their respective pages. At least, that's the procedure used for most of the other splits.

Now that I think of it... what about giving it the "Power Rangers/Super Sentai" treatment? The main page would host the common tropes to the series, while the other ones would get the game-specific tropes. The common tropes would still be listed, but above the game-specific tropes.
