Should this article be more clear as to the game being a hoax?

A little while ago, I decided to decipher Silver Sonic and Eggman's Cryptic Conversation and, at first, I thought I came across a Wham Line, after hearing the following:

(Unfortunately, some of Eggman's lines were drowned out by the music, but I did my best.)

Silver Sonic: I don't understand what's going on. This isn't right somehow.
Eggman: The whole system is breaking down. This shouldn't be here.
SS: The dimensional superstructure is being destroyed. This game never happened in this universe.
EG: This [unintelligible] are leaking into their world.
SS: That must be why the facts are so inconsistent.
EG: The [unintelligible] is corrupt. All of these cartoons and theater. It's just [unintelligible] information.
SS: Look at his second post. He is not even replying to [unintelligible].
EG: We have to stop this.
SS: Yes, Doctor.
However, after reading through the trope page, I realized that this is what the Mystic Cave Zone Boss had been referring to in the finale:

You may have received messages about the universe being destroyed or some nonsense. These are lies of a bored child. They are meant to amuse you.

This explains why the page's entry states that they were saying inane things: Because in the end, nothing they said had any real significance!

Another thing I've noticed is that throughout the game, specifically Hilltop Zone and the fake final boss, Tails mentions seemingly illogical things like "Press F5 to activate dildonics" and ranting directly to the player on how he was tired of following him after many years. As it turns out, all of this makes perfect sense, as the answer is All In The Manual: The game requires you to attach, among other things, a keyboard, a virtual reality helmet, and, oddly enough, a "Vibra-Luxe Dildonics Ultra-Rod".

So... where did the 3d footage in the Casino Night cutscene come from?

Never mind, I found it. It's from Sonic Jam.

Is there a place which lists all the songs used in the LP and the various bits of films or whatever they were?

Should we make a Shout-Out page that lists that?

Why is there no WMG page?

I have another music-based question: What is the name of that Japanese-like pop song in Metropolis Zone? I'm just curious, because I can't think of what it really is at all.

Does anybody have a clue what the boss theme was?

It's a Machinae Supremacy song. No idea otherwise.

After searching through a few song on Youtube, I found a song that sounded like it, called 'Empire'

I later searched Wikipedia on them, and found that 'Dududub Dududum' and 'Machinae Guns' were based on it.

Long story short, it's 'Dududub Dududum'. Thank You.

Why hide away that it doesn't exist down in the LP section? Why try to trick people into thinking it's real instead of just telling them that important piece of information in the opening? Spoiler tag it if necessary.

Rule of Funny. And, of course, if we go out and say that, the belief engine starts to malfunction.

I just read the whole way through and looked at the videos in increasing horror, until I saw that.

I agree, we should be more clear that it's fake, like a note before the trope list, like there used to be.

It's best this way. Do you think someday there'll be a TV Tropes article about a nonexistent LP of a nonexistent game?

No, it'd be better if there was a very clear note saying it's false. Passing it off as true doesn't do any good, it just flummoxes newbies and doesn't add anything.

Agreed. It's funny, but funny in a way that is against TV Tropes MO. Passing off something fake as being real is more of an Encyclopedia Dramatica thing. We are not Encyclopedia Dramatica.

Its kind of an odd situation. Reading through the Tropes for the "game", it just gets so blatantly out there and it just -cant- be real, or at least the Sega team wouldnt be -that- stupid as to ruin the game like that.

This is a bit insulting to Sonic Team...you might consider a spoiler tag at least somewhere on the page informing people that it isn't real. Y'know, that whole "real life" thing? That isn't on the internet? ;D
