(I didn't write the description, I just noticed the mention. The actual Ur-Example entry in the trope list appears to be correct, to my knowledge, but it's also kind of up to how you define your terms. As ever.)
Before anyone corrects it on the main page, Battlezone is indeed *considered* to be the first first-person shooter as the description says. Older examples exist, but only as localized games run on mainframes; the Ur-Example trope generally only counts published, commercial/freeware media, not private projects without a larger release. (Otherwise very few things could ever really be called an Ur-Example, since someone else may have come up with them earlier and not published.)
