This was removed on the grounds of being "not an actual thing, just something Yipes throws around":

  • Daywalker - A nickname coined by IFC Yipes as a Shout-Out to the film Blade. The eponymous Blade is a half-vampire who has "all of [their] strengths, and none of [their] weaknesses". Yipes used the term in reference to an Unorganized Player (or UOP—pronounced "YAHP"—that has a random, suboptimal playing style); in other words, a "Daywalker" has all the strengths of a UOP (unpredictability, fearlessness) and none of their weaknesses (dropped combos, inexperience). They are considered the worst nightmare of a top player.

How do you define "an actual thing"? Yipes is not the only person who's used the term. It seems to be pretty common in New York, and Yipes has said that it's a very old term.

It's just another "Yipes meme" like "SATANNN", "Raw ass", etc. It has never been a term commonly used in the fighting game community (Common in New York? I've never got that impression.), and if you've been hearing it a lot chances are the commentator in question is just imitating Yipes and have been repeating other expressions that Yipes made up.

It doesn't have the common usage other, actual slang terms like downloaded, salty, etc. have. I've never heard Yipes claim that daywalker is an old term, and I doubt it is. (The removed section even claims that Yipes coined it.)

I originally added the section after an on-stream conversation that Yipes had with Chris Matrix stating that it was a term that went around a lot in New York arcades during the late 90s and early 2000s. He admitted that most people don't use it anymore, though.

Maybe it was a thing once. I wouldn't know. But I do know that it's definitely not a popular phrase today.
