I found your response a bit unclear. What I got from it was (1) "no tropes are bad", ignoring the existence of such tropes as "Complete Monster" and "Kick the dog", (2) "Laziness is not immoral" with no reasoning to back it up, (3) "I am the only person who matters in this world, and I should not need to use my vast reserves of intelligence to help anyone, because I have the empathy of a slug."

I'll just say this: Imagine a person who knew little about TV Tropes ran across that page. Up until now, they had a generally positive opinion of the place. Suddenly, they see literally pages and pages of people arrogantly claiming that not only are they "geniuses", but that they are also too selfish to do anything with their alleged smarts. The person leaves, disgusted, and everyone looks bad. Do you get why having a section for vainglorious pseudo-nerds is bad now?

Here's the trouble: The page currently attracts WAY too many narcissists who try to claim (and probably have actually deluded themselves into believing that) they're brilliant. And then use the "lazy" part as an excuse for why, despite their supposed brilliance, they have yet to amount to diddley-squat. Regardless of how this makes the wiki look, it's a page consisting almost entirely of trash.

Not sure about completely deleting it, since I'm kinda OCD about not losing the one potentially good needle in the haystack. But it definitely needs some massive cleanup at the very least.

Well, like I said, I think we should just scrap the whole page and start over. Wiki magic would resurrect any entries that were really valuable.

Here's an idea: We take the whole page, and move the whole pile of trash in here for archival purposes, then scrap the original page. Then anybody who feels up to the challenge can feel free to dumpster-dive for any valuable entries.
