Am I the only one who thinks that the "Sonic and Sally" episode is an example of Adults Are Useless at its worst?

Why is a DeviantArt piece up, when we have like, five different great images from the show that would work better?

Removed this from the page:

  • Captain Ersatz: Quite a few. This is really not too much of a surprise as DiC seemed to have a habit of doing this with their own cartoons.
    • Princess Sally is quite similar to Princess Lana from Captain N, and seems to have hair similar to that of Janine Melnitz from Real Ghostbusters
    • Bunnie Rabbie is somewhat similar to Mega Man from Captain N
    • Antoine has Simon Belmont's cowardly side without the occasional heroics
    • Rotor is arguably Dr. Right, being the inventor
    • Tails, being the small one who can fly with some insecurities, is Kid Icarus
    • Sonic himself would be Captain N, being the "ultra cool" title character.
      • we can probably guess that some basis of the show was a Sega version of Captain N: The Game Master
    • Dr. Robotnik seems based heavily on Big Boss from C.O.P.S., from being overweight, the metal hand and the evil pet.
    • Snively, likewise being the meek assistant, looks a lot like a cartoonish chibi version of Big Boss's servant Squeaky Clean.
    • Swatbots look a bit like the Horde Troopers from She-Ra: Princess Of Power plus a bit of the vintage Cylon look. Perhaps th eonly example here where DiC did not base the design or character on one of their own cartoons.

I'm not entirely sure that it fits the trope. I mean, some of these comparisons are kinda out there. Can someone more knowledgeable about this show clarify this for me?

Uh... no they're not. They're obvious. MOST of these characters are based on characters form past DiC cartoons like it said in the first line and that's the whole point of the Captain Ersatz section, characters based on other characters. Adding it back in. Leave it.

On second thought, reading through the examples and the trope page, the example don't really seem to fit. I'd rather wait until we get a second opinion before we add it back in.

YMMV tropes aren't allowed on the main page, but this is a SERIES page. :\

Same basic thing; it's a work page. YMMV tropes are not allowed on the main work pages.

Make a section for the YMMV tropes for this on the YMMV page. Like how Buffy the Vampire Slayer has a section for the series and the original movie.

Soooo...umm...someone realizes that the Sally existed before SEGA said Tails was a genious...right? How is it that Sally REPLACES him as the team techie when he wasn't yet? Am i missing something?

About the show's Five-Man Band: Like I said on the history page, I was surprised when I realized it myself, but while Sonic was the star of the show, I don't recall any episodes where he did much in the way of leading, so much as bashing robots and generally putting his speed (and, occasionally, brain) to good use. Sally was the Freedom Fighters' leader, both at Knothole and in the field. It's a strange setup, but Sally and Sonic fit the "Hero" and "Lancer" labels too well to ignore.

Well, if you ask me, I don't really think being the Hero should be just about being the leader as well. I think that the Lancer, namely Sonic, also deserves to be labeled as the Hero as well alongside Sally due to his heroic deeds. I'm sure that there's some way to have this settled at last.

Sonic IS a hero, just not according to the Trope's description of the Hero. He, according to the tropes, IS the LANCER
