Tropes

  • Comically Missing the Point: Kaiba berates the Big Five for betraying him and Mokuba points out they also kidnapped him, to which Kaiba dismisses as "Yeah, that too."
  • Cyberspace: The Virtual World
  • Distaff Counterpart: Princess Edena who looks exactly like Mokuba. But female.
    Joey: This is just wrong.
Mokuba: I have never been more traumatized in my entire life. Why would my brother create something so twisted?
  • Easily Forgiven: When the Big Five claim that they were "just pretending to work for Pegasus," Kaiba states he instantly forgives them but he's still upset about the whole "trying to kill me thing"
  • I Take Offense to That Last One: According to Kaiba, you can try to take over his company, kidnap his little brother, you can even try to kill him, but "when you f*ck around with videogames, that's going too far."
  • Overly Long Gag: At one point Kaiba invokes this.
Kaiba: Time for a trip to the recycle bin phantom. And then once you are in the recycle bin, I'm going to right click on it and select "emtpy recycle bin". Becuase otherwise you'd just be taking up unecessary space. In other words, I'm going to kill you.
  • Schmuck Bait: Mokuba is aware that the Big Five are luring Kaiba in to a trap but Kaiba ignores him and still goes with it.
Mokuba: Why are you being so gulliable and out of character?
  • Refusal of the Call: When Mokuba asks the heroes for help, Joey declines stating that they don't want to help Kaiba out because he "smells like wee wee". They do change their minds when Mokuba mentions they'll get to play a dangerous videogame.
  • Shout-Out: The fairy the protagonists encounter repeatedly says but one phrase that players of Legend Of Zelda Ocarina Of Time will detest. The Ocarina of Time itself also makes a cameo.
  • Take That!: Joey comments on how the game was more dissapointing than Videogame/Fable
  • The Bad Guy Wins: Subverted. Though the heroes make it out of the game alive, Mokuba states the Big Five can't do anything to them, Kemo a.k.a. The Attention Duelists guy points out that they can still beat Mokuba up. And so, we end the episode with the villains and Tristan beating Mokuba up.
Yugi: Tristan why are you punching him?
    Tristan: I don't know!
