I vote we keep the promo image instead of a screenshot, because it's just awesome.

Seconded, if the BBC is releasing perfectly decent promo images we might as well use them, also it is just awesome.

When we first see Solomon, he's shown only in silhouette, expressing great excitement on hearing one of the intruders is called 'the Doctor'; specifically, he exclaims, "At last! After all this time!" Thus, the audience is led to expect that he's some old foe of the Doctor's; when the Doctor finally gets there, both he and the audience realize Solomon has no clue who he is, and just meant that at last there was someone to fix his injuries. Do we have a trope for this bait and switch?

Solle you and me seem to have a disagreement about this scene. It features Queen Nefertiti penning the doctor against a wall. She then starts groping and sniffing him. She also said that she will not allow him to leave. During this the doctor looks quite freaked out and is trying to get her to stop, but she will not take no for an answer.

I made the argument that a person physically forcing herself on another person that is saying no is sexual assault and attempted rape. You seem to believe that this is just the Queen flirting.

I hate to use this old cliché, but what would you think of the above scene if the genders were flipped. If I saw another woman in the Doctor’s situation I would assume that the man was attacking her. The dissonance seems to be from the fact that the Doctor is male and Nefertiti is female. This is almost the definition of the trope now known as Double Standard: Rape, Female on Male.

Since she stopped by herself it is classified as a Near-Rape Experience not Attempted Rape. This is similar to a scene with Amy in an earlier episode when she tries to rape the Doctor.

I am interested in hearing your view on the scene and discussing it like rational adults. Let’s stop this from becoming an edit war.

I think we can both settle on the edit that's currently on the page. I think there's a very (very) large middle ground between flirting and rape, and that rape is much too strong a word to use in this case (not to mention a serious trigger for many people reading the tropes page). I won't debate the consent issues, but I do not in any way agree that rape was the intent of either Nefi or Amy earlier on in the series, no matter how you phrase it.

According to various Facebook comments, the TARDIS shown on Brian's postcard from Siluria is the 9th/10th Doctor one. Series Continuity Error, Plot Hole, or what?!

It was a painting, not a photograph. There's a good chance he just had a piece of artwork commissioned sometime in the present day of a police box surrounded by dinosaurs- the artist was not actually there at the scene to depict the TARDIS or dinosaurs accurately. Also consider that he couldn't have sent a postcard from the Silurian era- he would have to come back to the present day first, making it more likely that it was artificially arranged.

Is there a trope that fits Rory's dad better than Crazy-Prepared? He just ... doesn't get why people don't carry trowels in case they need them.
