There's this thing that sounds like it should have a trope describing it, but I can't work out which one. So Toguro goes from 80% to 100%, and his full power like blows 80% out of the water. Which is bullshit, scientifically speaking. One key component of the final result of your exertion is leverage. Leverage is a strength multiplier.
So say Yusuke had a strength rating that we'll call 100, the amount of force he can generate from his body before leverage is factored in, and Toguro had a rating of 200. Yusuke would need leverage that multiplies his strength by more than 2 to overcome Toguro's inherent advantage. If you then up Yusuke's rating to 200, to keep his advantage, Toguro would need to go, not to 300, but to 400. So the practical difference between 80% and 100% is less than the difference between 60% and 80%, because what matters is the amount by which his strength multiplies (1.25 vs. 1.33). Considering that Yusuke was beating the shit out of Toguro at 80%, 100% would not give Toguro that great of an advantage.
Hide / Show RepliesMight want to ask in the Trope Finder.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanEnglish anime translation fun: Here, at about the four minute mark, Hiei tells Yusuke that he and Yukina have different mothers. (!?!) If I remember the manga correctly (and a bit of manual reading), they're twins, which by definition have the same mother. Googling seems to agree.
I bet there's a trope for that, but the only one I can think of is Dub-Induced Plot Hole, which doesn't quite fit.

Should there be a description for how Gonzou tarukane and Elder toguro are complete monsters?
Hide / Show RepliesI agree. Just Saying their names next to the ymmv complete monster trope is not saying how evil they are.
Hey Tropers/Manwiththeplan, what's with your sudden vendetta against the anime version?
Shamelessly plugging my comics, Oh yes.Ladies and gentlemen, we have a character page. There's a lot of tropes repeated between the two, and tropes which are on this page that should go over there. I've handled most of the work through D. If you have time, please help clean both of these pages up. Thank you!
Through fire, justice is served. A hero in shining armor is called. To punish evil forces, I have been charged.
Umm not sure if I am right or not but the trope “Barred from the afterlife” details seem to be wrong. I thought the reason was because Yusuke wasn’t supposed to die yet. It wasn’t his time.
