I think we need to delete the page quote. It paints an excessively negative image of this trope, despite the fact that we try to maintain that Tropes Are Not Bad. I say, delete it or find a less negative quote to go alongside it.

If I receive no objections by the next time I check this discussion page (in a few days), I'm going to delete the quote.
