Why is 1984 on this list? To be on this list, a work must be something intended to be non-political that is taken as having a political meaning. 1984 is clearly intended to have a political meaning and makes no attempts to hide it. Since this book is obviously intended to be political, why is it on a this list?

Ye cats and little fishies. Am I the only person in the world that reads a book / watches a movie / plays a game, and just sees a book/movie/game, instead of pulling 'analysis' out of my ass (heh) for ever molecule of it?

Isn't this more a subtrope of "What Do You Mean It's Not Symbolic?" rather than "Everyone Is Jesus In Purgatory"?
