I think this either needs to be converted into a useful notes page or it needs to be clarified what exactly the trope is. Is it a narrative device to build tension? The wibbly wobbly inconsistency in how long the shots take to arrive? (The inconsistency and implausibility is why Travelling at the Speed of Plot is a trope beyond People Travel Places.)
It's not exactly clear what does and doesn't count — do non-hitscan small arms in a moderately tactical FPS? Or the 3-5 second call-in, 1-second fuse 500kg bomb in Helldivers 2?
Is it defined by whether characters have time for agency after the trigger is pulled? Normals can't dodge a sniper shot or a close-range arrow, but can see a Rain of Arrows to raise a shield, or hear the whistle of artillery and dive into a ditch. Is time for an Oh, Crap! enough?
Is this People Sit on Chairs?
