Wouldn't Unexpected Ceiling work better for the trope as described? If this is supposed to be the kinder gentler version of Waking Up Elsewhere some of these places are going to be known to the character, just unexpected. If this is specifically about a first person pov from the character that is Waking Up Elsewhere then the examples and description need to be sorted out.

Since I'm not familiar with Neon Genesis Evangelion I could be missing something, but is there any reason Neon Genesis Evangelion: Genesis spoilers the names of the characters when 1) one of them is the same character who's featured in every other NGE fanfic example and 2) he's immediately named in the quote anyway?
