Should we remove the Parental Incest entry? Some Unequal Pairings are inappropriate but still consensual and/or romantic (boss/employer, ruler/subject, even some teacher/student if the student can legally consent and so on). IMHO parent/child incest is never romantic or even a pairing and belongs just to the Sexual Harassment and Rape Tropes index.

One area of Values Dissonence is that how has the Power in the Teacher/Student relationship has reversed in the last century or so. It used to be the teacher was an employe of the student.

Put simply, it can have a big abuse-of-authority vibe, especially where things like teacher-student relationships are concerned. There is the inplication that the less powerful individual has little say in the direction of the relationship. Cases where this is the result of Wife Husbandry are even skeevier, given the implication that the child-figure was raised and moulded to see the parent-figure as a potential romantic partner.
What's precedent ever done for us?
Can you ever think of any paring that is 100% equal in any way? True some pairings are WAY MORE unequal then others, but there is a LOT of grey area in this.
Why does this trope allow both fanon and canon pairings in the same folders? This isn't a fanfic trope.
Probably some weird relic from this site's early days, since this trope page is really old.
