Can someone tell me the title of the short story where we find out what happens to Emperor 'Turned into a Tree' Ozorne? Or the anthology, whichever's easier.

You're talking about Tristan, right? Ozorne was never turned into a tree. It's called 'Elder Brother,' from the book 'Half-Human.'

Er..the short story is also in the short story collection Tortall and Other Lands.

the short story ( Elder Brother) can be found in " Half Human" ( complied by fantasy writer Bruce Coville, a friend of Tammy's.) and that is where it was first published, several years ago. A more recent publication, Tortall and other Land, also contains another story that features the same characters and setting. it's not about Tristan OR Ozorne either, it's about the Tree that got turned into a man when nummy turned Tristan into a tree. trees don't think/ talk, even in Tortall.

Dunno if each series needs it's own trope page, maybe just separated by folders, but I think it needs a character page.

Any separation sounds good and a character page sounds fine. I could do it myself but all I really know or care about is one of the series.

It's book one of the Daughter of the Lioness duet. the second one is Trickster's Queen.

How come people( just in general, mostly) seem to see Kel/ the Kel books as " the one who had all the sex/ the ones with all the sex', but no one mentions Alanna in the same breath? Kel does a lot of flirting and making out, but I don't recall her sleeping with anyone in her series- and I just re-read them. Kel has crushes on three guys, and a lot of fans( that I've talked to) give her grief about it, or don't like the books as much, but Alanna has multiple Lovers throughout her series. In fact, Kel is the only main character who is still, well, a virgin by the end of her series OR her 18th birthday. So why is she the only one to get given grief by the fans and readers?

I don't think ANY of Pierce's qualify as oversexed. Alanna has with three, committed, monogamous relationships over the course of her life, and marries one. Keladry has a variety of teenage crushes, which is hardly unusual, and is only in one relationship total. I agree with you—hope fans in general back off!

Does anyone else think Tunstall's betrayal in Mastiff came across as Character Derailment? The Tunstall vs Beka scene was very well written and very sad, but it felt a bit like the whole thing came out of left field. Tunstall never seemed that desperate before...

Absolutely! I had issues with that whole book—in fact, it's the only one out of all her books I might never read again, though I loved the first two of the series. He simply was NOT the kind to do that. And most of the characters we got to know in the first two (Rosto, Aniki, etc) were practically Demoted to Extra, and then we're expected to fall in love with Fail OSuckyname Farmer. Sorry, but no. Beka and Rosto will always be together in my book.
