Anyone else find it weird how aliens from DC/Marvel keep refering to Earth as primative we are or how superior they are and yet they lose every fight against them or end up needing their help? How deep in denial are they?

In the real life section, I think it's useless (and frankly unfair to me) to note that the other species we share the world with aren't sapient, and thus the trope is justified. There is lots of proof to the contrary and even then, just because some species isn't sapient doesn't justify claiming superiority and killing its members to the thousands

  • The Minbari of Babylon5 believed that their status as the oldest Non-First One Space Faring Civilization gave them the right to exterminate the entire human race simply to avenge the death of their leader in a botched first contact that was as much their fault as it was the Humans.

No, they don't. The Minbari would have done the same thing regardless of the technological advantages or disadvantages of the human race. It's what they do: they like disproportionate retribution. A lot.
