If the "pies" mentioned on the main page are supposed to be what Wikipedia calls "savory pies", i.e. filled with meat and meant as a main dish, clarification should be made. For Americans, "pie" without clarifying descriptors means what Wikipedia calls "sweet pies", i.e. filled with fruit or nuts as a dessert. I'm not that familiar with soccer culture, so someone who is should make the edit.

I would like to suggest that we assemble a tab for managers. They are about as important as players are now, and there are famous ones with stories comparable to that of the most famous of players. I could even start a list: Bela Guttmann, Jose Mourinho, Arrigo Sacchi, Fabio Capello, Carlo Ancelotti, Pep Guardiola, Frank Rijkaard, Alex Ferguson, Arsene Wenger, Roberto Di Matteo, Claudio Ranieri, Luiz Felipe Scolari, Ottmar Hitzfeld, Otto Rehhagel, Juergen Klinsmann, Vincente Del Bosque, Sepp Herberger, Gusztav Szebes, Bill Shankley, Bob Paisley, Matt Busby, Alf Ramsey, Mario Zagallo, Brian Clough, Helenio Herrera, Carlos bilardo, Jose Luis Menotti, Vittorio Pozzo, Rinus Michels, Ernst Happel, Sven-Goran Eriksson, Rafael Benitez, Jupp Heynkes, Juergen Klopp, Johan Cruyff, Louis Van Gaal, Marcello Lippi, Miguel Munoz, Giovanni Trappatoni, Diego Simeone, Antinio Conte, and Marcelo Bielsa, for starters.

Honestly, why do we even have players listed?

Well, since nobody seems to want to say anything for or against it, I'll write up some blurbs for a few managers and see if anybody thinks they could fit in.

I just realized Garrincha is listed twice but don't know enough about him to combine the two.

Isn't the long list of "famous players" rather clunky? Would it be better creating a character tab and using that instead?

I was thinking splitting it up into forwards / midfielders / defenders / keepers myself. Or possibly by nation / region.

OMG, why the heck there's no Roberto Baggio description???

As said in the archived discussion, the first paragraph seems to be mostly a Take That at American Football. While I actually don't like that sport much, am I the only one who thinks calling this page the Beautiful Game is a bit much, and that the first paragraph be toned down?

Not to mention it's plain not true. In Australia and New Zealand it's usually "soccer" (although no longer officially so) - in Australia, "going to the footy" could refer to any one of at least four sports.

Well it's now been changed. The Beautiful Game actually is a name for Association Football/Soccer, so there's no problem with that name.

Query: Do women's leagues exist in football (soccer)?
