Are we sure this is a Roulette? A Xanatos Roulette relies on the element of chance - taking your time to infiltrate your enemy's home does not rely on chance. Yes, he could have died of a cold, but so could anyone else. Hell, all 47 samurai could have died of a cold, yet that wouldn't make it a Xanatos Roulette - by that logic, every plan that takes any large amount of time to execute is a Xanatos Roulette.

I'm not even sure it would be a regular Xanatos Gambit. A Xanatos gambit is a plan in which even if people act to stop you, they only end up furthering your goals. If the Ronin's plan was acted against, it certainly would not have furthered their goals. It would have furthered their goals if, for example, in being discovered, the authorities were lead to evidence that forced Kira to commit seppuku.

Remember, as a reference:

Batman Gambit: A plan that relies on people you know acting in the way you know they will.

Xanatos Gambit: A plan where even if the heroes try to stop you, their actions end up benefiting you anyway.

Xanatos Roulette: A plan that relies on pure, random chance, but is played as if they "knew and planned that all along!"

I don't think this counts as any of those. To me, it sounds fairly straightforward - they simply delayed their vengeance several years. They had no plans that relied on other people or random chance furthering them.

Still, I don't know what to replace it with. Any suggestions?

Not even several years, a year and a half (april 1701 to december 1702). While a Long Game, it's not that long as far as revenge goes.
