It's a fetish. It's not really all that sexy, but it's something people randomly get turned on by (trust me, I'm a voraphile myself and I don't get why it does XD).
I fear no man, unless your name is Link and you have the master sword. One can only speculate. Maybe it has something to do with a Freudian "return to the womb" thing. Or maybe because it involves you being touched and rubbed by someone's most private, soft, wet body parts (oh gosh, sorry for writing that). Domination/submission fetishes also seem to play a role.
I dunno, but I do.
This trope is popular enough with vorarephiles to get its own wiki, which I have been contributing to for the past several hours:
@troodos Not necessarily. Like say the creature that swallows you has no ill intent, and swallows you to protect you. Like, keep you safe in its stomach that isn't designed to digest live prey. Or, swallowing you to put you an extra stomach-like organ used for storing objects.
I feel like currently, this trope has too much overlap Getting Eaten Is Harmless. I'd like to suggest altering this trope's summary to specifically refer to the Eaten Alive sub-trope where the victim is swallowed whole, and distinguish it from Getting Eaten Is Harmless by saying this trope is only in effect if the eating is fatal. If no-one has any protest to this in two weeks, I'll implement it.
Hide / Show Replies"Eaten Alive" doesn't always mean they swallow you whole. You could be chewed to pieces.
Kronos' donwfall is ironic really. The thing did to prevent his fate only sealed it. And honestly, it wouldn't have happened if he was a better father.
Hide / Show RepliesSpeaking of Metis. I'm gonna rectify the issue by having Zeus eventually cough her up (full sized of course) and at worst, she's covered in saliva. And he's then treated to a nice kick in the balls from her!
Include the episode where Sponge Bob and Squidward get swallowed by a sewer snake.
So why is this sexy? I'm not making fun, I genuinely want to understand.
