"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanWe have two distinct tropes with similar names: Strike Me Down ("kill me because I don't want to live with the humiliation of having been beaten by you") and Strike Me Down with All of Your Hatred! ("kill me and drive yourself toward a FaceāHeel Turn").
I propose renaming this one (suggestion: "Give In To Your Hate").
I also propose broadening this one to include non-lethal cases (such as a villain provoking a hero to beat him up for no justifiable reason to prove that they're Not So Different), which don't seem to be covered by an existing trope.

Would Kill Me Now, or Forever Stay Your Hand also be an inversion of this trope— "I provoke you to kill me, wanting you to do it and prove you're a worse person than you think" vs "I provoke you to kill me, assuming you won't do it, to prove you're a better person than you think"? They seem related but I'm not sure if inversion is the right term.
