How about renaming this to Stop Or I Will Shoot Myself, as an obvious allusion to Stop, or I Will Shoot!?
It's a bit problematic how the trope description makes it sound like it's only ever used for comedy. I would think most RL incidents of that sort are rather of the dramatic sort, and there is plenty of that in fiction as well.
The first paragraph, with the bare bones description is good, but the rest might need reworking in that regard...
