arromdee: Is this supposed to be only for British examples? The anime section is mostly British, but has a Soul Eater example that obviously isn't, and given that Japan is a tea-drinking country there are other examples that could be added (plenty of tea drinking in Haruhi Suzumiya, for instance).
A couple of other examples also aren't British, like the Discworld example.

Why was the picture deleted? Been there years without a problem, near as I recall.
tea contains caffeine, some people may opt to get their fix from tea not coffee. You can see this in British workplaces sometime around half ten to eleven am and again at about quarter past two to three pm.

I'm surprised this article didn't add James Bond and Malcolm Reed from "Star Trek Enterprise" as aversions to this trope. Bond supposedly hates tea and Lieutenant Reed prefers coffee.
