What is the opposite of this trope? Like when a character who usually wears their hair down is surprisingly 600x more attractive with their hair all dolled up in an elegant style?

Why is this called "Slipknot Ponytail"? For years I thought this trope referred to the slipknot hairstyle, which looks like this.

The trope is fine, but it's the title of this trope specifically that bothers me because it doesn't do a very good job at defining itself whatsoever, and it can be confusing. Most tropes are easily understandable by their title alone, and this one is not.

Or am I the only one who thinks so?

I think it's called Slipknot Ponytail because, like a slipknot made of rope, it comes undone very fast and smoothly.

That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.
