Couldn't we change the pictured example? It doesn't really make sense to me, in relation to the trope.
Why are there no examples?
It seems like the page was launched without any, and this should not have happened without someone deciding this was a still noteworthy but flamebait trope and sticking it into the No Examples Please index.
Hide / Show RepliesPages can be launched without examples, without real life examples, without out-of-universe examples... The discussion can happen in YKTTW or everyone may just see it as a sensible idea. As it is, this page talks specifically about the internet persona, but examples of users on this wiki or others forums and sites are generally not given, possibly to prevent drama being imported.
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going. So, I can't see how this is different from Berserk Button. It's almost more of a specific kind of Berserk Button. Unless someone can show otherwise, I say we merge this into Berserk Button's intro paragraphs and delete this.
Hide / Show RepliesFrom what I can work out, this is a subtrope - Berserk Button ON THE INTERNET!
I think there is a distinct difference — Berserk Button is something which sets a character off — this is more about an obscure issue that someone will not stop pressing. They can overlap but aren't necessarily identical.
They are related concepts but quite different. You see, a "wonk" is someone with a nerdy and arcane sort of expertise in some field. You most commonly hear it in the context of a "political wonk" — the kind of person that gets passionate over filibuster reform or the electoral college.
A Berserk Button requires anger. Single-Issue Wonk does not. A Single-Issue Wonk will passionately proselytize about their pet issue at the drop of a hat. Someone with a Berserk Button is more likely just going to punch someone's face in over it.
They can overlap if you mock someone about their pet issue, but they don't necessarily.
Do we have a Troper Tales page for this? Or do I have to go to Berserk Button?
Hide / Show RepliesSince Berserk Button is essentially the same trope, just less specific, Berserk Button's troper tales would be a better place to keep it... if it still had one.

I thought, "I'm not this," but then I remembered some people think Lebron is as good or better than Michael Jordan, and NO SIR...!"
