I don't feel that anyone really understands what the meaning of Serial Escalation is here. Most people posting examples basically just say "Wow, such and such piece of media just keep on piling up stuff and twists so much, it never stops!" when it actually means "The act of attempting to one-up previous moments in a product by making future events grander or more outlandish".
Now that Up To Eleven is no longer a trope, should we get rid of the paragraph which starts with "Not to be confused with Up To Eleven", since it mostly references that trope, which no longer exists. Or should we just say the work topping itself needs to happen many times in succession.
