Inverse: It's extremely common for players to have knowledge in games their character shouldn't have, see Guide Dang It. Any further page on this? Also, a common subtrope would be in 3rd person games were the player can see things their character shouldn't be able to see, though that might be too omnipresent and not played with enough to be noteworthy.
