I may be wrong, but haven't kilts always been Irish as well as Scottish?
To be fair to the trope, if you trace this troper's Irish ancestry back far enough you'll end up in Scotland, and if you trace this troper's Scottish ancestry back far enough you'll end up in Ireland, and so in point of fact the only reason this troper does not refer to themself as "Scirish" is for fear of people mistakenly thinking that Scirish refers in some way to Skyrim.
