Is it just me or is this page being used an excuse to whine about reviews rather than highlight the trope in play?

Why does this trope's description focus primarily on game reviews while ignoring every other medium that gets reviewed?

It's a bit ironic that people who have this mentality gravitate towards reviewers such as Yahtzee and the Nostalgia Critic while the trope's description seems to think that this only applies to professional video game ones. Bias much?

Because it is most malignant in the game industry. More biases and reliance on reviews. It has become something of a plague.

Wow, this thing needs to go to the Trope Repair Shop ASAP, since it's being used to soapbox instead of noting how it's used in a story.
