I want to put Does Not Like Spam for Pot Noodle, but everyone treats Pot Noodle less as a food and more a torture device.

Except on the High Dwarf in "Demons & Angels", of course.

BTW - RED DWARF ain't the trope namer for "EVERYBODIES DEAD, DAVE", is it, kidz? — seems to me Hal-9000 first said it, to Dave Bowman, in 2001 A Space Odyssey, hmmm . . . ? —

HAL indeed said it first, but this is an example of Ur Example (2001) vs. Trope Maker (Red Dwarf), to use this troper's personal experience as an example, I've got five of the Red Dwarf series on DVD, but I have not seen 2001.

The article say "the success of Back To Earth led to the announcement of a full tenth series in early October of the same year." is this true?and if so is there any proof?

Jesus I hope so, however didn't Back to Earth come out in 2009? If there was a tenth series that'd be awesome sauce since this is one of my favorite television shows.

  • Involuntary Shapeshifting: In Emohawk: Polymorph II, after the eponymous Emohawk steals the Cat's coolness and Rimmer's bitterness, they instantly transform into their alter egos.

I pruned this trope from the list because it's misused: Shapeshifting is a recurring ability, but this is just an alter ego surfacing. What's the trope for that again?

No, I was talking about Lister. Rimmer actually abandoned his parents.

Is Red Dwarf also the Trope Namer for Sarcasm Mode? or is there an earlier use of the term?
