ledge: Has there been any word that Akihisa has pulled a Ken Akamatsu-style Xanatos Gambit on his publishers? i.e. selling an Unwanted Harem but then evolving it to full-blown seinen once it got to popular to do anything about it. The steady progression seems to have been too well plotted out to be done on the fly, IMO. Every Monster Of The Week steadily got more powerful and more "serious" in the goals. Not to mention how "the week" started evolving into multi-episode arcs. The artwork, sure, that's just Akihisa finding his style, but the story... it just all works too well to not believe this was his plan all along. I'd really, really love to hear what he might say about this theory. Not only that, but holy cow what a CMOA if a newcomer to the world of manga managed to pull it off so masterfully.

I'd have to say that he did.
As soon as Hokuto was introduced, the series definately became darker.
