If a Recurring Character gets Transplanted in a Spin-Off show and becomes a main character there, does this trope still counts?

Might want to ask here.

Why isn't there a picture? I think a before and after split would be good. The title of Jimmy Neutron would be easy to use, because it had all of the main characters in one spot until they suddenly added Libby in there.
More pluck than an Alabama banjo festival
Would this trope be appropriate for music examples where a musician worked as a guest musician on a band's studio albums for years before becoming a full time member? Two examples would be Dee (then known as David) Palmer joining Jethro Tull as a keyboardist for "Songs From the Wood" after providing orchestral arrangements for every previous album and John Neff joining Drive-By Truckers as third guitarist/pedal steel specialist for "Brighter Than Creations Dark" after having guested as a pedal steel player on all but one of the band's previous albums.
