Film - The Dark Crystal —> the Skekzys draining the Pod-people with rays through the darkened, incomplete crystal, to sustain their own vitality, leaving the podlings as apathetic withered zombie-slaves . . . (best Muppet movie of them all, many say, btw)

Do lobsters being boiled alive really count? I thought it was clear that they die almost instantly after being dropped because their bodies are so fragile. In fact, I think the whole section of seafood there might need a YMMV. I think fish can feel pain, but I don't think that's a consensus.

The former Ottoman government mostly consisted of slaves, and the empire relied on warfare to survive, capturing people from neighbors and enslaving them for the government.

I noticed that fish food being made from fish counts. Surely the entire meat industry, plus leather (made from cow hide) and fur count too in this case? Rule of Cautious Editing Judgment applying, of course, since this troper both eats meat and wears leather. Depending on your viewpoint, this could be a positive example.

Do we have an positive example of this trope? For example the child gives of huge amounts of power naturally and this is a good way to keep them safe and happy?

Dunno if it counts but in one of the mini stories of my Tokusatsu novel on my DA we have Commander Raven who sucks out the lifeforce of a nursery of babies to curbstomb the team. Only for the retired nectromancer (he retired because no one trust a "good necromancer") and resurects ALL the corpses because their spirits demanded retribution, then Corpses Explodes the whole lot of them on Raven (after they crawl over him and bury him in undead babies)

This trope isn't supposed to have positive examples. If you have a kid who radiates a lot of dangerous energy and a machine that gobbles it all to power itself while keeping the child safe, happy and approachable, that's symbiosis.

@Undead Harlequin: while you right to remove what we had on embryonic stem cell, we should probably mention at least how it's regard as an example.
