I read this in the RL and thought it was really clumsy clunking English:
"Perri Rhoades, the author of Spectral Shadows was an Otaku at one point in their lives. This can be seen by visiting years older submissions on their Live Journal page."
did enough research to ascertain that Perri Rhoades is male, and I was about to edit that god-awful clunking "their" to "his".
just checking: is there any reason for the use of a neutral pronoun here - is PR asexual or trans or something like that? I still think the clumsy English clunks, but if correcting the grammar were to cause offence, it's possibly best I ask first - I get that feeling.
