What exactly is the "Moe Squint" used in the last sentence of the description? A quick Google search didn't yield any answers for me. Am I right to assume it's this expression: ^_^ ?

Not exactly, but you're on the right track. It's this expression >_< where the eyes become arrows and point towards the nose. The page image for Post-Stress Overeating is an excellent example of a Moe Squint in action.

I'm having a bit of an issue with the picture and the link in the article to the movie with similar anime characters. The picture shown is not the original character design. I get the idea that the figures in the movie are all by the same character designer, which explains why they look so similar.

The only problem I have with the picture is the fact that is creeping me out. That stare is making me have bad dreams.

Personally, that picture introduced me to an obscure, yet unforgettable show that I wish more people would see. I thank the genius that put it there.
