Well, seeing as that name change/definition expansion proposal was declined, I'm going to cut some examples that aren't "Mistaken for Racist/Anti-semite/islamaphobe".

I think this should be expanded to "mistaken for prejudiced" as i can think of a few examples of mistaken for sexist/homophobic/etc

There's some examples on this page that, at this point, may have to be cut because they don't fit the definition of the trope, specifically the 2 examples of "Mistaken for Transphobe" (Transferrable machine guns, and transmissions).

I understand why the "N" word is offensive. But why do Americans believe that calling people "People" is an insult?

Dagobitus is probably talking about the phrase "you people" as explained in the Real Life folder of this trope.

Is it worth mentioning that this trope (and defying it) is the reason Unfortunate Implications now require citations on this wiki?

If so, would it go under Web Original or Real Life?

Not exactly true - people seeing "Implications" in the flimsiest of circumstances is the actual reason.
