Regarding the example of queer romance being less prevalent if the "knight and lady" are the same gender, I've actually observed "female knight and lady" to be quite popular amongst lesbian fantasies, stories and ships. So I'm wondering if this point still holds. It seems gay men prefer other spins on typically het pairings, so this still holds for them.

Of course, I'm not gay myself so I'm no authority on this.

I was just going to say, I have a male/male example, and I hope the troper majority doesn't say it can't count. I'll put it anyway.

I made this Idolized Julius Kingsley icon back when Akito first came out, and now that the crossover is actually happening, I don't care.

Wouldn't there be four possible categories? Bright and White, Dark and Black, Bright and Black, Dark and White?

For example, Silverbolt and Blackarachnia in Beast Wars could be an example of Dark and White.

I agree, but would like to suggest a change. Maybe the Mixed couples could be put in one large folder and further sorted using AC folders? If you agree, I'd be happy to make the page changes.

Sorry I hadn't checked this in a while. I agree, keep it simple-ish.

I'm a little confused here... How exactly would a couple of a Knight in Sour Armor and a Broken Bird lady be qulaified if they still have some Lady and Knight dynamic?

This could be an example, but we need much more in the detail department. See How To Write An Example. Not enough to say a work has the trope, the point is to flesh out the trope with specifics. The trope is the thing we're serving here.

  • Homestuck: Dave and Jade from seem to have this dynamic while Jade was breeding frogs. It's implied Karkat and Kanaya had a similar thing in the troll's session too.
