Shouldn't someone explain WHY Kick-Ass is sexist and racist? I mean the entire page says this once and everything else on the page seems to describe it in a positive light. It's like saying Batman is actually a forest fire and then never explaining it.

If something like that is on the page and is not adequately explained, it should be removed.
08:33:35 AM Jan 19th 2011
Well I'm not saying it should be removed, I'm just saying there should be at least some kind of explanation.
05:45:41 PM Jan 20th 2011
The person who added it only linked to one review that claimed it was sexist and racist, and claimed it was widely panned, which it wasn't.
04:36:51 AM Jan 25th 2011
I (the original complainer) added the link to justify it being there actually. Well, maybe someone should just add an unfortunate implications thing there?
06:23:06 PM Jan 25th 2011
A) It's one page, not really widely panning it, and B) Unfortunate Implications is now subjective and no longer allowed on main pages.

There are two Just Bugs Me pages for Kickass, one called Kick-Ass and the other Kickass. This is very confusing, the former seems to talk about both the comic and the movie but is primarily about the movie and the latter only has one thing on it that I can't tell if it's from the movie or the comic. What to do...

I went ahead and combined the pages to the new and correct page. Cut listed the old duplicate. Also changed the index so no page links to it anymore.

Any fixing of the just bugs me page could be to just have different folders for the movie and comic.

That makes sense, I'll edit pages to include the folders next time I visit a just bugs me page with issues from different adaptations.

I did that last night because I was bored. You're welcome to change them around if necessary though.

Here is a nice article that discusses the subversions and deconstructions in the film.

"And that jetpack. That was one of the things that troubled me on my first viewing, but was totally cleared up on my second viewing. See, I watched Kick-Ass the first time thinking it was a deconstruction of the superhero genre: 'This is what would happen if a real person put on a costume and fought crime.' That's the fakeout hook, but it's not what the movie is about. Kick-Ass is a complete celebration and re-affirmation of the superhero genre."

Is it justified that I add 'Rape as Comedy' to this page? The movie certainly goes in that direction, I haven't read the comic.

The comic has nothing resembling that. However, see the topic above about possibly separating the comic and movie pages.

Who got raped?

This might be another case of needing a split article for the comics and the movie. They seemed to have changed a fair bit of it.

I'm in favor of that. The movie doesn't even come out in the States until next Friday.

Kick-Ass is a crowning moment of Awesome from beginning to end. I saw it two weeks ago as a preview in the UK and I have seen it twice since. Hit-Girl I will love you forever.

I think you're confusing the discussion page with the forum. That sort of comment goes there.

I vote for spliting. They're both very good, but very different.
06:14:36 PM Apr 17th 2010
split this bitch

Went ahead and split the page. Kind of a rushed job and I haven't read the comics so if I made a mistake feel free to fix it.
