Are you meaning to tell me there isn't a specific trope for slicing bullets? Aw, come on!

Star Wars has to be the Trope Codifier for deflecting ranged attacks with swords, at least for the Western world. (Not cinematic bullet-blocking in general, that goes back to Wonder Woman and so on, but sword=bulletproof.) Or if nobody can think of earlier examples, it might even be the Trope Creator.

Could we say something about Lion-O in the 2011 Thundercats episode the Duelist and The Drifter?

How about Lion-O blocking flames and fireballs, which seems to be the most common use of a sword in animated series.
