If I understand the trope correctly, this means that a character is great at one thing, but seems to suck at others.
If that's the case, I think a good image would be a shot of a character showing lack of knowledge on one thing, next to a shot of this same character being really good at something else.
Hide / Show RepliesI agree that we need a different page image. The one we have looks more like Attention Deficit... Ooh, Shiny!.
Edited by ading I'm a Troper!!!Idiot savants are usually incredibly skilled in one aspect such a mathematics or history, but lack most basic skills such as in more extreme cases being unable to put on clothes by themselves. Saying it as being good at one thing amd bad at another is to vague for a helpful picture.
Would an Idiot Hero be a form of Idiot Savant? Not very smart, but very good at what they do?
The term "Great Man" is disturbingly interchangeable with "mass murderer" in history books. Hide / Show RepliesIdiot Savant is more about a The Ditz who has a surprising talent. I think you're looking for Genius Ditz.
EDIT: No, that's not right either... I'm not sure what you're looking for.
Edited by ading I'm a Troper!!!An Idiot Hero could be an Idiot Savant but it is not required. A perfectly good Idiot Hero may just be an idiot who, after being chosen, is either saved by friends or just lucky.
